For this very day, 'existing' was it's very crime. Why oh why did it have to be there, like a barrier, and no amount o glaring would make it fall over. He had been trying that theory for a good three minutes or so, and he was sure that those that passed by were giving him odd looks, but none had tried to confront the angry-looking third year. Breathe, breathe, breathe. He mentally told himself, trying to throw off the anxiety he felt. He would need all the nerve he could muster for the task up ahead, and knocking on a door of all things was not suppose to intimidate him. He fought the blush that threatened to creep onto his face at the thought of what he was going to do. Or rather hoped to do. Breathing deeply once more, he tried to get his nerves under control. Knuckles found their way onto the door, and fell on the wood three times before the boy thought it would suffice. Without awaiting an answer, he pulled the door open. Of course he knew it was break time for the second years, he had to make sure before the risk of making a fool of himself in front of a teacher became a reality. As if he needed more problems already. Coffee eyes searched across the room, before settling on a familiar fluff of brown hair. He took another breath, gathering his courage as spoke aloud. " Tristan?" He could only hope that his voice would remain even. " Can I talk to you in private?" Katashi decided to ignore the curious glances that came his way, in the case that his anxiety would overthrow his nerve. I'm really doing this, huh? Usually during the second year break, Tristan would socialize with other classmates talking animateldy about whatever pleased him. Today seemed to be a different story. The boy wasn't his normal cheerful self. Not saying that he was sad, but he wasn't up talking someone's ear off to death. He hunched quietly over his desk with a color pencil in hand as he scribbled fiercely. Glossy emerald eyes focused on the task before them.
"Just a bit more yellow..." Tristan murmured to himself, smiling. He sat down his blue pencil, subtituting the dark color for a bright and lively yellow. Hs hands began to work.
In fact, the picture was for a dear friend...well a dear more than friend friend. Just thinking of the kind blonde brought a bright red hue to his visage. Katashi. The two did not know each other long, only meeting at a party and connecting instantly as friends. While they recently met and befriended each other, Tristan already knew his feelings for the other boy laid beyond the friend zone.
Around Katashi, Tristan couldn't help the red blush that bloomed on his cheeks or the soft butterflies that fluttered about in his tummy or the way his hands went soft and clammy. Tristan wondered if Katashi felt that way around him. Did Katashi even return his feelings? Maybe or maybe not? There were plenty of times Tristan thought of mentioning the subject, but then his throat would clamp up with fear before he could utter a word.
So busy with his thoughts and drawing, Tristan failed to hear the door sliding open.
"Tristan?" At the sound of his name, Tristan's head shot up as his eyes met with Katashi. His tan cheeks flooded with color, and he scrambled to hide the drawing as he quickly but neatly tucked it into his jacket pocket.
"Hola. What are you doing here, Katashi?" Standing, Tristan smiled before briskly walking in the other male's direction with open arms. Tristan enveloped the other into an embrace, ignoring the curious stares that were thrown in their direction.
"Did you need something? Ponies? Band-aids? Stickers? Glitter? Crayons?"
"Can I talk to you in private?" Tristan stepped back, staring at Katashi curiously with bright emerald orbs as his pensive brain roamed with questions as to Katashi's request. What did Katashi want to talk about? Why alone? What was so important that they need pivacy? Oooooh! Maybe Katashi wanted to give Tristan a secret to keep. A wide smile stretched across his feature just thinking of the secret Katashi would entrust with Tristan.
"Of course, you can! We can head to the gardens. It's so lovely there, and the flowers are always pretty. And you're my friend, and if you need to talk then I'm always hear. We can talk about anything that you need to get off your chest. Come!" Tristan, ignoring his own blush, held Katashi's hand in his own before heading over to the gardens. "Vamos!"

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][bg=#f4f4f4][atrb=width,400px,true] don't you feed me lines about some idealistic future Katashi quickly replied with an embrace of his own, wrapping his own arms around the other's middle, much too used to Tristan's hugs to even hesitate for a moment. There was only a brief moment of embarrassment when eyes were suddenly stuck on them at the display of affection, to which he had to bury his chin into Tristan's hair to ignore, the light flush of pink on his face a bit undeniable now. He had never quite done something like this before, the nothing new, but with today's resolve also came the flutter from his stomach with every step he took closer to the brunette. The moment was here, whether Tristan knew it or not, and Katashi was quickly getting lost in his own thoughts. Though he did have to chuckle at Tristan's suggestions. Leave it to him to just be so... Him. Not that it was a bad thing, he guessed it was that happy nature that drew him to the brunette anyway, the way that Tristan could make him feel so happy even with the simple things he did. " You didn't bring a pony to school, did you?" He asked out of curiosity, smile never leaving his lips since the hug. Somehow, that spare contact was enough to incite another flutter from his inside. It took a steady gulp to calm himself down. He led the other boy into the garden's as he had suggested, keeping quiet during their small walk. Katashi had never been the chatty one, rather, he was the quiet child among his siblings. He would often joke to Tristan that he spoke enough for both of them, so it was fine either way. He hadn't realized the attraction back then, he had said it in passing, without thinking, but now... Maybe it had been leading to this realization all along. He led them to a small spot in the garden. Potted flowers by the side, an array of white and yellow petals among the red, while a small nursery at the other end, little seedlings sprouting from the ground. Tristan had been right, it was lovely here. It even seemed... Appropriate. With every step he had been gathering his courage, though he might have appeared calm during their walk he was anything but. He felt giddy and anxious at the same time, then again, that was how he felt whenever he was with Tristan nowadays. It had taken him days to realize that what he felt was his feelings for the other boy, and another few days to come into terms with them. Now, more than ever, he was understood that he had to tell him that. " Tristan." He started, sounding nervous despite having tried to gather up his determination. " We've known each other a while and- I think that- Since, you know, we spend a lot of time together- What I'm trying to say is-" Damn, he knew he should have tried to prepare better, at least think about how he wanted to tell Tristan about his feelings for him. But the thought of it had always made him want to back track in the past, until final one day, or rather today, he decided that he just needed to get it out. He scratched the back of his head, looking up the sky for inspiration before letting out a sigh and making a grab for Tristan's hands, seeking some kind of comfort. " I like you, Tristan." He said, trying to keep the shakiness from his voice as he looked him the eye, mocha eyes trying to convey what his words couldn't. " Will you go out with me?" Katashi quietly lead the way down the pristine halls, and Tristan chatted the entire way to the garden. “Oh! Oh! So I went to that Hello Kitty store in the mall! Like the really big store! I’ve never met people who love Hello Kitty more than I do. My Little Pony is better than Hello Kitty any day, just saying. I love kitties, but I rather meet a unicorn before meeting a kitty. Oooooh! That reminds me, wanna come over on Friday. It’ll be a sleepover and then we can wake up early and make a really yummy breakfast before watching the new episode of My Little Pony. Rainbow Dash- you know, the blue one with the cool rainbow hair, remember, she’s going to the Wonder Bolt’s Academy! I hope she gets in because Rainbow Dash is the best flyer in all of Equestria. She deserves to be a Wonder Bolt, but I hope she doesn’t leave her friends behind. But they are the elements of harmony, and they have to save the world together because that it what friends do! Oh! Oh! I forgot-my story. So I was in Hello Kitty, and I saw these really really pretty-Oh, we’re here at the garden.”
Tristan took a breath and ran to the bench, sitting down before petting a spot for Katashi to follow suit. It was then that Tristan began to notice that Katashi was acting a bit off. Frowning, Tristan questioned the boy.
“Katashi, are you alright? You’re not as talkative as you normally are. I mean, you’re not talkative in the first place. But you seem really nervous. And you shouldn’t be nervous with me, because we’re really close. We should be able to tell each other anything without be nervous. It’s not like we’re dating.” Tristan blushed, before producing a nervous laugh.
“Then we would really have a reason to be nervous.”
"Tristan." Katashi interrupted the Hispanic from his tiresome babbling, and Tristan with his full attention looked up at Katashi curiously. His green orbs, silently questioning the other boy as to what he wanted to ask.
"We've known each other a while and- I think that- Since, you know, we spend a lot of time together- What I'm trying to say is-" Tristan watched his friend struggle to collect his words, wondering what exactly the boy was asking. Ooooh! Maybe he wanted to ask him if he wanted to be his best friends. Mentally, Tristan squealed. Best friends would be so nice. While he would prefer being boyfriends, being his best friends might be used to his advantage because best friends always fell in love in the movies. So then the two would end up falling in love as best friends and lives happily ever after with their five children.
"I like you, Tristan." Tristan smiled as he waited to here more. Here it came.
"Will you go out with me?" YES-wait, what? That wasn’t a best friend proposal. Tristan frowned. Why would Katashi ask that? They went out all the time. Was he really that worked up over asking Tristan that silly question? Tristan shook his head as a smile replaced his frowny face, and he laughed. The brunette took Katashi’s hand and stood.
“Katashi, you silly. We go out all the time. Are you tired of the slumber parties? We can go to Karaoke, or shopping. We can go out and see a movie. How about that? Would you like that? Were you nervous that I would say no? I’m flexible. We can change it up a bit.”

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][bg=#f4f4f4][atrb=width,400px,true] don't you feed me lines about some idealistic future He had flitted in and out of listening to Tristan talk, laughing to himself when he went on about hello kitty and my little pony. Common subject matter, there was nothing to worry about. He could still remember the time that Tristan had pushed him to watch an episode of my little pony, simply refusing to let him leave until he did. Dating. Well that caught his attention. Did Tristan already know what he was getting at? Oh shit, was he making a fool of himself keeping quiet like this. He uttered a little grunt of confirmation to Tristan as he laughed, maybe he would understand after all. And so he went ahead with his confession. For a heart stopping moment, he thought Tristan had just refused him. He stared at Tristan as his answer became apparent. " ...Uh" Was the most intelligent reply he could manage at the moment as the other suggested a group of other things that they could 'go out' to. The only conclusion he could come up with was that Tristan didn't exactly understand what it was he was proposing. Which meant that he couldn't beat around the bush and hope that the other could understand the hints he was dropping. Damn, this was going to be even more difficult that he first thought it would. " No, I meant-" He groaned, pinching in between his eyes to get rid of that fresh wave of nervousness that came. He thought he had made himself clear enough, though he suppose he could never really was when it came to Tristan, when everything felt about as fluttery as clouds with him. " Go out go out." He mumbled, wondering if that made anymore sense than his previous attempt. Probably not. He wasn't optimistic about the chances at all. " I was thinking that maybe later, we could go over to my house instead of yours. I could cook us something to eat and we can watch some on the big screen if you want... As... You know?" Why was it so hard to say out loud? " As... Boyfriends?" W O R D S --- 344 T A G S --- tristan N O T E S --- hoop doop YOUR HEART WON'T HEAL RIGHT IF YOU KEEP TEARING OUT THE SUTURES |
