♠ ETCETERA
Antonio has undifferentiated schizophrenia. The symptoms began showing when he was fourteen, after he, his father, and the brother he was closest to, Leonardo, got in a car accident with a drunk driver. Antonio wasn't too badly injured, but Leonardo and his father both died.
Shortly after returning from the hospital, the rest of his family definitely noticed something was wrong. Although he said he was sad about his father dying, he never acknowledged the fact that Leonardo was dead. In fact, every once in a while he would run out of the house on his own proclaiming that he was going to play with Leonardo for a little while, and whenever someone told him that his brother was dead, he would yell at them for saying such a nasty lie. He was right there! Couldn't they see?
Not much later, he was diagnosed and given medications to prevent the hallucinations and other mental and emotional changes which were occurring. Unfortunately, when the hallucinations vanished, so did his brother, and Antonio became incredibly jumpy, anxious, and withdrawn. Since he had never seemed to hurt himself or anyone else because of his hallucinations and he has said that he knows Leonardo isn't really there (though doesn't honestly believe it), his parents didn't complain much when he began to skip taking some of his medications: the medications responsible for lessening the hallucinations. He has since developed a habit of not taking them at all, unless, of course, the voices get particularly violent.
